Ready, Set, Lift: Texas Marine is Raising the Bar on Watercraft Lifts

Most people wouldn’t park a Maserati on a busy street or leave expensive artwork exposed to the elements on a screened porch. Yet thousands of boat owners resign themselves to substandard boat lifts that do nothing to protect their aquatic investment, and that is a situation that the folks at Texas Marine Technologies are changing.

“Competition Ski Boats, Pontoons and Runabouts are ranging from the upper $40,000's to more than $100,000,” says Texas Marine's owner Larry Smith. “The lifting systems designed in the past are simply outdated compared to the boats they are lifting.”

On North Texas lakes, Texas Marine Technologies, a design driven company that has a state-of the art 175,000 square foot machining and manufacturing facility in Rockwall Technology Park introduced a new product line that includes the TMT V-Series lift. Described by company representatives as a “lift that is used in a boathouse application,” the new lift offers maximum support to accommodate new hull designs and configurations.

“Our focus is high-end competition ski, pontoon, and runabout boats,” Smith said. “However, these lifts are ideal for any and all watercraft designs.”
Smith explains that the new product has many advantages over the traditional I-Beam lifts or slings. TMT's cradle comes standard with a high grade Daystar Marine Carpet or the newest in bunk technology called Snap-Traxx. Snap-Traxx is a composite material made in "Slip or Grip" sections. Snap-Traxx was awarded the National Marine Manufacturing award for Innovation. It not only reduces blistering from a wet soaked bunk, they look awesome!

“We have developed a new drive unit that requires no grease or maintenance,” he said. “The age-old problem is greasing these lifts. If you grease them correctly, the grease will drip onto your vessel, causing stains on upholstery and boat covers. Our gear unit is completely sealed with no exposed moving parts and does not require a plastic cover.”

Smith says that the new drive is 50 percent smaller than conventional flat plate drives traditionally used with lifts, adding that the compact new system is also faster as well.
“We have increased the speed of lifting by 50 percent with our drive,” he said. “The drives are constructed of aluminum and stainless steel, and stainless steel motors and wireless remote controls are standard on all Texas Marine Lifts.” No more frustration from open gear systems, belts, hand controlled switches and vibrating pulleys.

In addition to the V-Series lifts, Texas Marine Technologies has developed a new bunking system for pontoon boats. Smith explains that today's pontoons require the same type of special consideration as the competition ski and runabout boats. Many of the new double and tri-toon crafts have special requirements when lifting out of the water.

"We knew we had a special design when we created the new Pontoon Series!" In fact Smith states, "We filed for a Patent on our system". He goes on to remark "This truly is the best lift for today's pontoon boats."

“There have been many design changes in the pontoons,” he said. “These changes have resulted in stricter requirements for the bunking and cradling system that supports the boat. We developed a bunking system that accommodates the new pontoon designs, and the cradles offer maximum support while handling the delicate and critical elliptical pontoon designs.”

Many boat owners work long and hard to buy the boat of their dreams, whether it’s a comfortable, spacious pontoon or a sleek ski boat built for performance. Regardless of the style, most boaters agree that there is nothing better than a leisurely day on the water and an agenda of skiing, cruising or simply finding a secluded fishing cove. However, when the day is done and it’s time to put a cherished boat away, Texas Marine Technologies can simplify the process with the company’s new product line. So protect your investment by exploring Texas Marine's new lifts – you’ll make your own boating experience that much sweeter for years to come.
